How to Print on a Plastic Container
26/11/2014

While normal inkjet printers are not made to print on large plastic containers, you can design and print labels to stick on your containers. Clear printable labels come in different sizes from different companies and can be purchased online or at a retail store. You can download templates from a label website that allow you to create and print your own designs, usually with a program such as Microsoft Word or Publisher. The clear labels will make it look as if you have printed directly on to your plastic container.

1.Purchase plastic inkjet labels from a retail store or online website such as Avery, World Label or Desktop Publishing Supplies. Choose a label size that will fit the container you want to print on.
2.Download a matching label template for the size of label you purchased. You can download templates for free from the label-making company's website.
3.Double-click the label template file to open it in Microsoft Word or Publisher, depending on which program the template was designed to be used in.
4.Design your label using the template file. This will usually be a blank file with text boxes, where you can type text and place images. You can create full sheet of labels or choose to create only one.
5.Print a test label out on a normal piece of paper to see how it will look before you print to the clear label paper.
6.Print the final label on the clear label paper.
7.Peel the clear label from the label backing and stick it on your container. Be sure to apply it firmly and evenly so that the label does not wrinkle or peel off. Once applied, it should appear as if you have printed directly to your plastic container.
